The Aquaponics Association is currently accepting applications for one position:
The Communications Intern will work with the Board to create, organize, and distribute content. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about creating content that empowers people and/or organizations and ignites engagement in aquaponics. Storytelling, visual artistry and movement building skills are highly desired for this position.
Given that interest in aquaponics is growing exponentially, this role has the potential to bring a lot of value to a resume and work
experience. Working with our Board where we have existing measures and metrics in place, we can track how the fruits of our labor will grow this movement and the Association. This role offers great potential for someone looking to showcase their movement building skills.
Work Activities and Deliverables
The role and responsibilities of this position will include the following activities:
-Write original content
-Work with the Communications Director to organize content and manage a publications schedule
-Work with Initiative / Working Group Directors to develop engagement activities such as polls and discussion prompts in App discussion rooms
-Brainstorm ways to engage the aquaponics community
-Brainstorm ideas to raise awareness about aquaponics
-Upload, format, and publish all Association posts on the Association
website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Member Communications
Platform, Association email, and other outlets that may be required.
-Organize Association content into a visually attractive newsletter form
-Track metrics such as website views, email opens, press coverage, etc
-Create and maintain a press contact list, Execute press releases upon request of the Communications Director
-Track and summarize the current news in aquaponics.

Terms of the Internship
-Internship is unpaid.
-Internship will be conducted remotely.
-Internships runs from the time of acceptance through the Association annual conference September 20-22, 2019.
-Intern must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week.
-Intern will be granted one full ticket to the annual conference which includes all conference content and most meals. This does not include travel or lodging. Intern will be expected to help with conference administration.
